Our Mission

Nobody should have to choose between care and rent

The mission of the Feels Like Home Adult Day Services Foundation is to remove financial barriers to compassionate, non-medical adult day care — funding sponsored days of care and caregiver relief for older adults and families in Metro Detroit who could not otherwise afford them.

Access

Cost should never be the reason a senior sits home alone.

Dignity

Assistance is offered quietly and respectfully, never as charity.

Family

We support the whole household, not just the participant.

What We Fund

Every dollar goes to a real family

The Foundation raises money for two specific purposes. Nothing else.

Program 01

Sponsored Days of Care

We cover the daily rate for participants whose families cannot afford it — whether that's a few days a month during a hard stretch, or a longer period while a family recovers from a job loss, a medical bill, or a death in the family.

  • A safe, supervised daytime place instead of being home alone
  • Meals, activities, and social connection included
  • Paid directly to the care center on the family's behalf
Program 02

Caregiver Relief

Family caregivers burn out quietly. We fund respite days so a spouse, daughter, or son can go to work, see a doctor, or simply sleep — knowing their loved one is safe and engaged.

  • Respite days for unpaid family caregivers
  • Support for caregivers who have no other help nearby
  • Priority for households facing a sudden crisis
